Annette Schiffmann CV

Born in 1954 in Germany.
Annette Schiffmann joined TFF as an Associate in August 2003 and became member of the Board in August 2006.

Public relation counselor, printer, designer, photographer, human rights and peace activist – please follow my activities on Facebook.

For decades I have worked against the death penalty with a focus on the USA & for the freedom of the African-American journalist Mumia Abu-Jamal, who was on Pennsylvania’s death row for 30 years – only to be “released“ into a life in prison now, which is not acceptable. More in German here.

Specialized in public relations, organizing, networking, and fundraising for small political and cultural groups and organizations. More here.

My photo exhibition “Half Of Heaven” (see below) has been shown in dozens of places all over Germany and still finds new places.

From 2015 and onwards, my main work has been with the Refugees Welcome – Asylarbeitskreis Heidelberg – in my hometown of Heidelberg, a practical experience that has also enabled my to boost the competence of TFF in this field.

Projects 2012
Traveling with my exhibition – full schedule until the end of 2013.
Co-organizing two major events in Berlin to Free Mumia Abu-Jamal and to abolish the death penalty and mass incarceration. More here and here and here – the website is in German but speeches are in English and photos are universal.

Traveling to the US to network with the lawyer team for Mumia Abu-Jamal and activists in New York and Philadelphia – and to visit Mumia for the first time in general population!

Creating and organizing a huge one-day-open-air-exhibition in Heidelberg’s main street – 2 kilometers with fabric squares, hanging on a long cloths line – each piece a dedication to a woman or girl that had to suffer from sexual violence.

*************
“I want to express my eternal gratitude, joy, and fun, for having met Jan and Christina on the International Iraq Conference in Berlin in November 2002, and for knowing them better since August 2003 – they both make life lovelier, funnier, and much more worthwhile with their ideas, ideals, their cooking, their jokes, and their commitment – with people like them we can and will achieve a better world.”
